For over 20 years, we have specialised in the settlement and refund of Austrian taxes for persons legally employed abroad. We prepare tax returns up to 5 years back and help recover overpaid income tax. We offer a fixed upfront fee with no commission and no hidden costs, so the settlement cost is known before the case starts and does not depend on the refund amount.
Average tax refund: 1500-2500 EUR. Settlement up to 5 years back. Processing time: 3-6 months.
FenixTax price: 500 PLN - fixed fee, 0% commission from the refund amount. The entire amount goes to you.

Austria uses a progressive tax tariff, where tax increases with income. During the year, the employer withholds income tax advances that do not always correspond to the tax actually due. Only the annual settlement submitted to Finanzamt Österreich makes it possible to recalculate income, take allowances into account and refund the overpayment on the basis of the complete yearly situation.
Overpayments occur particularly often with employment during part of the year, seasonal work, a change of employer or unused allowances.

A refund can be claimed by persons who worked legally in Austria and paid income tax advances. This applies to year-round, seasonal or only several-month employment. The right also exists after returning to Poland.

The amount depends on income, advances paid and available tax allowances. In many cases, the average refund is 1500 to 2500 EUR, but every tax situation is calculated individually on the basis of the documents, the employment period in Austria and the allowances that can be applied.

The most important document is the Lohnzettel (L16), the annual tax certificate issued by the employer. It contains information about earnings and income tax paid. In some cases, settlement is possible on the basis of monthly payslips, but the annual Lohnzettel is best because it summarises the full year and is the standard basis for the calculation.
If you are missing a document, we explain how to obtain it quickly.

We handle the entire process fully and remotely. We analyse your situation, prepare the return, submit it to Finanzamt Österreich and conduct correspondence on your behalf. The client does not have to contact the Austrian authority independently or prepare explanations in a foreign language.
As part of the service:
Processing and payment usually take 3 to 6 months.

Austrian income tax can be settled up to 5 years back. Even if you worked in Austria several years ago and did not file a return, you can still reclaim an overpayment, provided the relevant tax year is still within the settlement period.
If you are tax resident in Poland, you report Austrian income in PIT-36 with PIT/ZG attachment. We support you with the Austrian settlement from beginning to end, including preparation of the return, correspondence with the authority and checking the result after the decision is issued.
Download the document package, fill it in and send it to us. We will take over your settlement completely. Remember: taxes from Austria can be settled up to 5 years back.
